Last weekend the season started. I travelled to Gaerne Tropy in Maser, Italy. The race was C3 classified and therefore not many world best riders were at the start line. I like calm and relaxed beginning of the season, it’s nice way of getting back in race mode. I need to remember what I have to focus on during the race, also we have to test all the new gear with the team.

During the race I was passing juniors for most of the time, which started one minute before open women category, so it was almost impossible to make the race in my own pace. The course was nice with a lot of single trail and also with some very steep climbs. Downhills were smooth and enjoyable, at the rocky sections were many spectators cheering.

Victory on Gaerne Trophy was motivating enough to continue preparation step by step towards first World cup races. Therefore my next race will be in Montichiari in two weeks’ time where the Italian series of races (Internazionali d'Italia) continues.
